THE PROBLEM

Excel is great for working with data.
It isn't great for collecting it.

When you need someone else to provide structured information, an emailed spreadsheet creates work for everyone involved.

Contacts with no agent

BoldTrail won't import a lead without an assigned agent, and the other CRMs tag the ones they can't match.

Stages that don't exist

Your CRM won't create stages from a file, so Hot, Warm and A-list end up as tags or as Prospect.

Dates and numbers every which way

Birthdays and closing dates day first or without a year, several phone numbers in one cell, and zip codes missing their leading zero.

Past clients merged or skipped

A contact already in the brokerage's database is merged or skipped, and may stay with another agent.

THE ALTERNATIVE

Give people the structure.
Let them provide the data.

Build the workflow once, then use it whenever you need someone to provide information in a particular structure.

01

Define

Create the columns and fields your spreadsheet normally contains.

02

Send

Give the other person a link or embed the workflow in your application.

03

Validate

Catch missing, invalid, or duplicate values before they become your problem.

04

Download

Download the completed data as a clean CSV ready for your existing process.

Your Excel template becomes a workflow.

Take the spreadsheet structure you already use and turn it into a guided CSV workflow. Your columns stay under your control while the person providing the data gets a much clearer experience.

Switching CRMs?
Bring the old export.

Export your contacts from the CRM you're leaving and upload the file. Its columns are matched to the ones your new CRM imports, and anything that won't import is highlighted before you upload it.

LESS CLEANUP

Catch problems before the spreadsheet reaches your team.

Put the rules into the workflow instead of relying on instructions buried in an Excel template.

Required fields

Every contact needs an assigned agent before it can be imported.

No duplicates

The same email listed twice is flagged, whatever its capitals.

Dates, phones and emails

Birthdays and closing dates in your CRM's format, and real emails and phone numbers.

Dropdowns

Statuses and opt-ins only accept the values your CRM uses.

EMBED IT

Put the workflow where your team already works.

Send a link to each new agent, or embed the form in your brokerage intranet. This is the BoldTrail template, live: try typing 31/05/2017 into Birthday.

Link or embed

Share a link, or add the form to your own site with an iframe.

Your branding

Your logo and brand colour on the form.

Row limits

Set how many contacts each form accepts, up to 1,000.

CSV processing happens in the browser.

Import Builder processes CSV data locally in the user's browser. Spreadsheet contents don't need to be uploaded to Import Builder simply to provide the editing and validation experience.
