Import Builder Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Last updated: 2026-08-22

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Import Builder ("Import Builder", "we", "us", or "our"), including our website, applications, embedded tools, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Import Builder on behalf of a company or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. In that case, "you" includes that organisation. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. The Service

Import Builder provides browser-based tools for building structured spreadsheet workflows, collecting, editing, validating, mapping and exporting data, including CSV data. Import Builder is intentionally focused on the spreadsheet workflow. It is not intended to replace the business system that ultimately receives or processes the resulting data. The Service may include free and paid features. We may add, modify, suspend or remove features from time to time. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every browser, device, application or third-party system. We may perform maintenance, updates or other changes to the Service from time to time.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account and for keeping that information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs through your account. You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You must not share your account credentials with other people where doing so would circumvent account limits, subscription restrictions or other controls of the Service. You must be at least the minimum age required to legally enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

4. Your Data

You may upload, enter, import, process, transform and export information through the Service ("Customer Data"). You retain ownership of your Customer Data. You are responsible for ensuring that you have all rights, permissions and lawful authority necessary to provide Customer Data to Import Builder and to process that data through the Service. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with applicable laws and regulations, including privacy and data protection laws. You must not upload or process information through the Service where you do not have the necessary rights or authority to do so. We may process Customer Data as necessary to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy and any applicable agreements between you and us.

5. Data Accuracy and User Responsibility

Import Builder provides tools for preparing and processing data, but you remain responsible for reviewing and verifying your data. You are responsible for checking data before relying on it, distributing it, importing it into another system, or using it for business, financial, operational or other purposes. Import Builder does not guarantee that data entered, imported, transformed, validated or exported through the Service will be complete, accurate, error-free or suitable for your particular purpose. You acknowledge that user configuration, incorrect input, incorrect mapping, formatting errors, validation rules, transformations and other user-controlled settings may result in unintended results.

6. Backups and Data Loss

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate and independent backups of your Customer Data. Import Builder is not intended to be your sole backup or archival system. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, corruption, alteration, deletion or unavailability of Customer Data resulting from user error, incorrect configuration, incorrect import or export operations, third-party systems, technical failures, service interruptions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. You should maintain copies of important data before performing significant imports, transformations, exports or other operations.

7. Service Scope and Data Handling

Import Builder is intentionally designed to collect, validate, edit and export structured spreadsheet data. Import Builder does not automatically import a completed CSV into your CRM, accounting system, database, property management system, inventory system or other third-party software unless a separately provided integration or feature specifically supports that functionality. Import Builder does not automatically email a completed CSV to you or another recipient. Import Builder does not permanently store your end users' spreadsheet contents as project data. Spreadsheet contents are primarily processed within the user's browser. The project information stored by Import Builder consists of the project configuration, including the columns, validation rules, settings, appearance, publishing configuration and other information necessary to provide the workflow. Publishing a project makes its configuration accessible to anyone who can access the published link or embed. You are responsible for not including confidential information, credentials or personal information in a project's configuration. Import Builder may use temporary browser storage to help users recover work if they accidentally refresh, close or interrupt their browser session. This browser storage is provided as a convenience and must not be treated as permanent, guaranteed or backed-up storage. Browser storage may be unavailable or lost due to browser settings, clearing browser data, storage limitations, device changes, private or incognito browsing, browser behaviour, or other circumstances outside our control. Users should maintain independent copies of important data and should regularly export or download important work, particularly for long-running workflows. Import Builder does not guarantee that a downloaded, exported or otherwise locally stored CSV will remain available, backed up or recoverable after it leaves the Service or the user's browser. Import Builder is not a replacement for your accounting, CRM, property management, inventory, database or other business systems. You remain responsible for receiving, storing, backing up, processing and securely handling exported data and for determining how that data is ultimately used. The separation between the spreadsheet workflow and the systems that ultimately receive the data is intentional. Import Builder provides the tools for building the workflow and preparing the data, while your existing business systems remain responsible for what happens to the resulting data.

8. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Service: - for any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive purpose; - to violate the rights of another person or organisation; - to upload data that you do not have the right or authority to process; - to distribute malicious software, malware or harmful code; - to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or another user's account; - to interfere with or disrupt the Service; - to circumvent usage limits, subscription restrictions or security controls; - to reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by applicable law; - to use automated methods to abuse, overload or scrape the Service; - to use the Service in a manner that could reasonably be expected to damage our systems or other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.

9. Free Plans and Usage Limits

Some features of Import Builder may be available without payment. Free plans may be subject to usage limits, feature restrictions or other limitations. We may change the features or limits associated with a free plan from time to time. Free plans are provided without any guarantee that they will remain available indefinitely.

10. Paid Plans and Subscriptions

Certain features of Import Builder require a paid subscription. Paid subscriptions are billed according to the pricing and billing terms presented at the time of purchase. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise our payment provider to charge the applicable subscription fees and any applicable taxes to your selected payment method. Subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled before the applicable renewal date. You may cancel your subscription according to the cancellation options provided within the Service. Unless otherwise stated, cancellation will prevent future renewals but does not necessarily provide a refund for the current billing period. We may change pricing for future subscription periods. Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of material pricing changes.

11. Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law and any refund terms presented when you purchase a subscription. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable law.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on or integrate with third-party services, including hosting, authentication, payment processing, analytics, email delivery and other infrastructure providers. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for failures, outages, changes or actions of third-party services that are outside our reasonable control. Third-party integrations may change or become unavailable from time to time.

13. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, interfaces, branding, documentation, content and underlying technology, is owned by or licensed to Import Builder and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense or otherwise exploit the Service or its underlying technology. You retain ownership of Customer Data. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process Customer Data only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure and operate the Service and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, feedback or recommendations about Import Builder, you grant us permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that doing so does not disclose your confidential information or Customer Data.

15. Service Changes and Availability

We may modify, update, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service. We will use reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be unavailable temporarily due to maintenance, upgrades, technical issues, security incidents, third-party outages or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

16. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, misuse the Service, create a security risk, or where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, our users or third parties. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before terminating or suspending an account, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary. Upon termination, your right to access the Service will end. Where technically and commercially practicable, we may provide a reasonable period for you to retrieve your Customer Data following termination. We do not guarantee that Customer Data will remain available indefinitely after account termination.

17. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your specific requirements, produce particular results, be uninterrupted, or be completely free from errors or defects. You are responsible for determining whether the Service is suitable for your intended use. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty, guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Import Builder and its owners, employees, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, data or anticipated savings arising from or relating to your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will be limited to the amount you paid to Import Builder for the Service during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

19. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Import Builder against claims, losses, liabilities, damages and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. This section does not require you to indemnify us to the extent that the relevant loss was caused by our own unlawful conduct or cannot legally be passed to you.

20. Privacy

Our collection, use and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy. Where you use Import Builder to process personal information belonging to other individuals, you remain responsible for ensuring that your collection and use of that information complies with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

21. Marketing Communications

We may send you transactional and service-related communications necessary to operate your account, including account notifications, security messages, billing information and important service updates. Where you separately opt in to receive marketing communications, we may send you product updates, educational content, new feature announcements, templates, offers and other promotional communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the relevant communication or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing communications will not prevent us from sending essential service-related communications.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may provide reasonable notice through the Service, by email, or by other appropriate means. The updated Terms will apply from their stated effective date. If you continue to use the Service after the updated Terms become effective, your continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law. We will maintain version information for our Terms so that the version applicable to your acceptance can be identified.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the applicable laws of Australia. You and Import Builder submit to the courts of Queensland, Australia, and courts entitled to hear appeals from them, subject to any mandatory rights or protections provided by applicable law.

24. General

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for particular features or services, constitute the agreement between you and Import Builder concerning your use of the Service.

25. Contact
