Need more than three rows?

Move a whole portfolio at once.

The free template is limited to three rows so you can try the workflow. Create your own form to collect up to a thousand units from your team, or from an owner whose properties you're taking on.

Create your own form

Up to 1,000 rows

One row per unit, for every property you manage.

DoorLoop column names

The headers match the Properties tab, so the data copies straight across.

Checked as they type

Bad emails, unreadable dates, rent with symbols and percentages over 100 are flagged.

Bank accounts as a dropdown

Turn the bank account columns into a list of your accounts in your own form, so names always match.

How it works

From old system to DoorLoop in three steps.

01

Collect

Paste a rent roll from your old software or spreadsheet, or send the form to whoever has the lease details.

02

Complete

Each unit gets a row. Missing addresses, property types DoorLoop doesn't know and unreadable dates are highlighted.

03

Download

Download the CSV, copy it into the Properties tab of DoorLoop's template, and send it with the other tabs.

Why use a form?

A migration is only as good as its rent roll.

Rent, deposits and lease dates set up in DoorLoop become charges on real tenants. A rent of “$1,600/mo”, a lease date nobody can read or a missing tenant email means a late start, or a tenant charged the wrong amount in the first month.

A form keeps every unit in DoorLoop's format while it's gathered, so the onboarding team gets a file they can load first time.

Property types DoorLoop doesn't recognise

Property Type is a dropdown of DoorLoop's five residential types, written exactly as their template expects.

Rent and deposits with symbols

Amounts must be plain numbers, so $1,600.00/mo is flagged before it reaches DoorLoop.

Leased units without tenant contacts

Emails and phone numbers are checked, so tenant portal invites go to real addresses.

DoorLoop import template

Moving your residential rentals into DoorLoop

DoorLoop moves existing portfolios in with a data migration template: a spreadsheet with tabs for your account launch date, bank accounts, properties, owners and vendors. You fill it in and email it to their onboarding team, or upload it in the Getting Started flow, which DoorLoop recommends for more than ten units. Their team typically completes the migration within three to five business days.

The Properties tab carries most of the data, with one row per unit. Each row has the property's name, type and address, the unit's details, the current lease (start and end dates, how often rent is paid, rent, security deposit, late fees and up to three other charges), up to two tenants and the property's owners. Leave the lease and tenant columns blank for a vacant unit, and the end date blank for a month-to-month lease.

A few rules catch people out. Property Type and Frequency Rent is Paid only accept DoorLoop's own values, such as RESIDENTIAL_MULTI_FAMILY and Every2Weeks. Bank account names must match the Bank Accounts tab exactly. Each owner needs a company name or a first and last name, and the ownership percentages for a property must add up to 100. That last check spans several columns, so it's worth adding up before you send the file.

Use this template to pull the rent roll together from your current software, an old spreadsheet or the owners themselves, then copy it into DoorLoop's template. It covers the Properties tab with two owners; owner contact details go on DoorLoop's Owners tab, and a third owner can be added to your own form.
