How it works
From location list to bulk upload in three steps.
01
Collect
Send the form to whoever knows the locations: a client, a franchise manager or each branch.
02
Complete
They type, paste or import their list. Problems are highlighted until every row is fixed.
03
Download
Download the CSV and upload it in Moz Local's bulk location upload.
Why use a form?
One bad row can stop a whole upload.
Moz Local reads the columns by position, so a deleted or reordered column shifts every value into the wrong field. Clients also write countries in full and leave out phone country codes.
A form fixes those problems where they start, with the person who knows the right answer.
Columns out of order
People delete empty columns or insert new ones. The form's export always keeps Moz Local's order.
Missing required fields
Every location needs a name, address, city, postal code, country, phone and plan before the CSV can be downloaded.
Format mistakes
Country codes must be two letters and phones must be real numbers, checked as they're typed.
Moz Local bulk upload
Uploading locations to Moz Local
Moz Local distributes a business's name, address and phone number to directories and data aggregators, and keeps them consistent. Agencies and multi-location businesses add locations in bulk by uploading a CSV.
Moz Local's bulk upload expects nine columns in a fixed order: business name, address line 1, address line 2, city, state or province, postal code, a two-letter country code, the primary phone with its country code, and the Moz Local plan level. Address line 2 must stay in the file even when it's empty.
Consistent name, address and phone data is the whole point of local listings, so mistakes in the upload spread everywhere. This form checks each location as it's entered and always exports the columns in Moz Local's order.
Many of the same details go into a Google Business Profile bulk upload, which has its own template with store codes, categories and opening hours.
