Google's headers
The export uses the column names from Google's bulk upload spreadsheet.
Checked as they type
Missing store codes, repeated codes, bad phones and websites without https:// are fixed before you get the file.
Reusable forms
Send the same form to every new local SEO client.
How it works
From location list to bulk upload in three steps.
01
Collect
Send the form to whoever knows the locations: a client, a franchise manager or each branch.
02
Complete
They type, paste or import their list. Problems are highlighted until every row is fixed.
03
Download
Download the CSV and upload it in Business Profile Manager, then check Google's preview before applying.
Why use a form?
One bad row can stop a whole upload.
Google's spreadsheet has strict rules: a unique store code for every location, phones that work in the location's country, websites with https:// and hours in a set format. Clients rarely get them all right first time.
A form fixes those problems where they start, with the person who knows the right answer.
Duplicate store codes
Google matches locations by store code. Repeats are highlighted before export.
Missing required fields
Every location needs a store code, name, address, country, phone and primary category before the CSV can be downloaded.
Format mistakes
Phones, websites and opening dates are checked as they're typed, and the hours format is explained on every hours column.
Google Business Profile bulk upload
Uploading locations to Google Business Profile
Businesses with several locations can add or update them in bulk from a spreadsheet in Business Profile Manager. Google provides a template with one row per location and columns for the store code, name, address, phone, website, categories and opening hours. Businesses with 10 or more locations can then request bulk verification instead of verifying each one.
This template uses the headers from Google's spreadsheet and checks the rules Google publishes: store codes are required, unique and at most 64 characters, business names at most 100, descriptions at most 750, and websites need https://. Google asks for a phone number or a website; this form requires the phone, which every location should have anyway.
Google's spreadsheet has more columns than this template, such as photos, special hours and extra address lines. They're left out on purpose: in a bulk upload, a column with a heading but empty cells deletes that information from existing locations. If you're updating locations that already have data in those fields, keep the columns out of the file.
Agencies managing local listings can send this form to each client, or each branch manager, and get back a file that's ready to upload. Check Google's preview of the changes before applying them.
