Why use a form?
Location lists drift out of date.
Franchise directories end up spread across emails and spreadsheets: a new franchisee's details in one, a closed location still marked open in another, the same store listed twice under different names. Every mailing, audit and listing update starts with fixing the list.
A form keeps every location in the same columns, with one row per location ID.
The same location twice
Location IDs must be unique, so a site added from two lists is caught.
Closed locations still listed
Status is chosen from a list, so a closed or temporarily closed site is clear.
Country names for codes
Country takes a 2-letter code: a name is flagged with the code to use.
Franchise location directory
What a franchise location directory holds
A franchise location directory is head office's master list of locations: one row per site with its ID, name, the franchisee who runs it, how to reach them and where it is. It's the starting point for reporting, communications, audits and local listings.
Location IDs matter most. Every other report, from monthly sales to inspections, refers to locations by ID, so each location needs exactly one, used the same way everywhere. A directory with one row per ID is what lets reports from different systems be matched up.
Keep status current. A location under construction, temporarily closed or closed shouldn't receive the same communications or appear in the same reports as an open one, and its listings may need updating. Opening dates help with anniversary reviews and comparing new and established sites.
The directory also feeds local listings. Location names and addresses kept consistently here are the basis for Google Business Profile and directory updates, where small differences in spelling cause duplicate or mismatched listings.
