In your own form, location IDs come from a dropdown, so they're never retyped.
Checked as they type
Currency symbols, text in number columns and wrong dates are flagged.
Same columns everywhere
Franchisees can't add, rename or delete columns, so every report combines.
Up to 1,000 rows

How it works
From franchisee to royalty calculation in three steps.
01
Collect
Send the form to each franchisee at the end of the period.
02
Complete
One row per location per period. Missing amounts and dates in the wrong format are highlighted.
03
Download and combine
Download each CSV and stack them: the columns match, so there's nothing to reformat.
Why use a form?
Royalty reports break when every location reports differently.
One franchisee writes the store ID as 104, another as Store #104. One reports sales with tax, another without. Dates arrive as 03/04 and 2026-04-03, and amounts as $12,450.00 and 12450. Combining them means hours of cleanup before anyone can work out the royalties.
A form gives every location the same columns and checks each entry, so the reports arrive ready to combine.
Store IDs spelled differently
One ID column, written as head office writes it: your own form can make it a dropdown.
Gross and net mixed up
Separate columns for gross sales, discounts, refunds, tax and net, so the royalty base is clear.
Periods that don't line up
Start and end dates as YYYY-MM-DD, the same for every location.

What goes in a franchise sales report
Most franchise agreements require each franchisee to report their sales for every period, weekly or monthly, so the franchisor can calculate royalties and advertising fund contributions. The report is usually one line per location per period: the location, the dates covered and the sales figures.
The royalty is normally a percentage of a defined sales figure, often called gross sales or net sales. What's included varies by agreement: many exclude sales tax, refunds and discounts, some exclude employee meals or gift card sales. Reporting each part in its own column lets the franchisor apply its own definition without asking each location to do the maths.
Combining reports is where most of the time goes. A location ID spelled two ways, a period that overlaps the last one, or an amount written with a currency symbol each needs fixing by hand before the totals can be trusted. Keeping every location on the same columns, with the same date and number formats, is what makes the reports add up.
The template collects the figures; it doesn't calculate royalties, which depend on your agreement's rates and definitions. Download each period's reports, combine them, and run your calculation on clean, consistent numbers.
