Need more than three rows?
Collect every rooftop's inventory.
The free template is limited to three rows so you can try the workflow. Create your own form to send to each lot or sales manager, and get one clean feed back instead of a different spreadsheet from every location.
Create your own formMeta's field names
mileage.value, image[0].url and the rest, so the file uploads as a data feed without mapping.
Checked as they type
Repeated vehicle IDs, wrong-length VINs, mileage with commas, unknown body styles and links without https:// are flagged.
Your own fields
Add stock numbers, sale prices or dealer names to your own form.
Up to 1,000 rows
Room for a group's whole inventory in one file.
How it works
From the lot to your catalog in three steps.
01
Collect
Import an inventory export, or send the form to each location's sales manager.
02
Complete
One vehicle per row. Missing prices, short VINs, unknown body styles and photo links without https:// are highlighted.
03
Download and upload
Download the CSV and add it to your vehicle catalog in Commerce Manager as a data feed.
Why use a form?
One bad row can hide a whole vehicle.
Meta skips vehicles with missing required fields, and ignores every vehicle that shares an ID with another. Spreadsheets from different lots write mileage, prices and body styles their own way, so the feed loses vehicles without anyone noticing.
A form checks each vehicle as it's entered, so the whole inventory makes it into your ads.
Repeated vehicle IDs
Two vehicles with the same ID both disappear from the catalog. Each ID can be used once.
Values Meta doesn't read
Mileage as a whole number without commas, and body styles and fuel types from Meta's own lists.
Short or long VINs
A VIN has exactly 17 characters; a dropped character is flagged straight away.
Facebook vehicle catalog template
How Meta reads a vehicle catalog feed
Facebook automotive inventory ads and Marketplace listings come from a vehicle catalog in Meta Commerce Manager. Dealers and agencies fill it from a data feed: a CSV, TSV or XML file with one vehicle per row, uploaded once or fetched from a URL on a schedule.
Each vehicle needs a unique ID, a title, a description, a link to its listing, make, model, year, mileage and its unit, at least one image, a body style, a price, an exterior color and whether it's new, used or certified pre-owned. The dealership's address and coordinates say where it is. Fields such as mileage and images are nested, so a CSV writes them as mileage.value and image[0].url.
Prices are written as the amount, a space and the currency code, such as 18000 USD. VINs have exactly 17 characters, except on vehicles built before 1983. Descriptions can't include promotional text, links or text in capitals, and Marketplace only shows used vehicles with more than 500 miles and at least two photos.
This template uses Meta's field names and checks each column as it's filled in. The price format can't be checked by a column type, so it's in the column help, along with the rules Marketplace adds. The dealer's country is written in full, as in Meta's examples.
