Why use a form?
Getting the product data is often harder than importing it.
Sending someone a spreadsheet template sounds simple until columns get renamed, product information is missed, or different people format their data differently.
A structured form gives people a clearer way to provide the product information you need before turning it into a CSV.
Missing product information
Required product details are easier to communicate.
Inconsistent values
Give people structured fields instead of blank spreadsheet cells.
Spreadsheet back-and-forth
Collect product information directly through a form.
Large product catalogs
Collect thousands of rows in one structured workflow.
WooCommerce Products CSV template
A simple WooCommerce product CSV template
Use this WooCommerce product CSV template to collect product information such as product names, SKUs, descriptions, prices, categories, stock information and other product details.
Instead of sending someone a spreadsheet and asking them to work out which columns to complete, give them a simple structured form and download the resulting CSV when they are finished.
The downloaded CSV is structured around WooCommerce's product import format, making it easier to prepare product data for WooCommerce.
WooCommerce supports different product types and a range of optional product fields. Depending on your catalog, you may need additional fields for variations, attributes, categories, images, inventory or other product information.
For international shipping, WooCommerce's product CSV also takes customs data: Commodity code (HS code), Country of origin and Customs description. The commodity code is 6 to 14 digits, and spreadsheets drop the leading zero from codes such as 0901210010, so the template keeps it as text. Country of origin is a 2-letter code such as CN. On a variation row, a blank cell uses the parent product's value. A store without customs fields shows these as columns it doesn't recognise, and you can skip them when importing.
If you need different fields or more than three rows, you can create your own Import Builder form and configure it for your WooCommerce workflow.
