The free template is limited to three rows so you can try the workflow. Create your own form to collect up to a thousand order lines, from your team, a wholesale customer or a store Shippo doesn't connect to.
Create your own formUp to 1,000 rows
One row per item, for a full day's orders.
Shippo column names
The headers are spelled as in Shippo's sample file, with no stray spaces to stop the upload.
Checked as they type
Missing emails, country names instead of codes, weights with units typed in and unknown weight units are flagged.
Your own defaults
In your own form, put your usual weight unit first in the list and add the columns you always fill in.
How it works
From order list to labels in three steps.
01
Collect
Import an order export, or send the form to whoever has the addresses.
02
Complete
Each item gets a row. Missing addresses, bad emails, country names and unknown units are highlighted.
03
Download
Download the CSV, click Upload CSV on Shippo's Orders page, and create the labels.
Why use a form?
Failed rows mean a second upload.
Shippo emails a summary after each upload, and every order it couldn't read has to be fixed and uploaded again. Shippo says missing or wrongly formatted fields are the most common reason: a missing email, a country spelled out, a ZIP code that lost its leading zero in Excel.
A form catches those while the orders are entered, so the first upload is the only one.
Missing or placeholder emails
Shippo needs an email on every order and rejects N/A. Email is required and checked as one.
ZIP codes Excel has trimmed
Postal codes are kept as text, so 02134 stays 02134 instead of becoming 2134.
Countries and units Shippo can't read
Country must be a two-letter code such as US, and weight units one of lb, oz, kg or g.
Shippo CSV template
Uploading orders to Shippo by CSV
Shippo's CSV upload brings orders in from anywhere it doesn't connect to directly: a wholesale order sheet, a marketplace export or a list typed up by hand. You click Upload CSV on the Orders page, match each column to a Shippo field, and the orders appear ready for labels. The column matching can be saved, so the next upload with the same headers is quicker.
Every order needs a recipient name, street, city, postal code, country and email. US addresses also need a two-letter state code, and international shipments with FedEx, UPS or USPS Priority Mail Express need a phone number. Shippo suggests your own email or phone when you don't have the customer's, and a placeholder postal code of 00000 for countries without one, such as Hong Kong.
Weights, sizes and dates have strict formats. A weight is a plain number with a unit of oz, g, lb or kg in its own column. Package width, height and length must be greater than zero, with a unit of in, cm or mm, and they go together: fill in all four or none. Dates are year first, such as 2026-10-20. An order with several items is several rows sharing the order number, and Shippo keeps the first row's address, so two different customers given the same number become one parcel.
This template checks each column as it's filled in. It can't check rules that span columns, such as all four package fields together, or that a US address has a state, so those are in each column's help. The order number isn't required to be unique, because repeating it is how an order gets a second item.
