How it works

From customer details to QuickBooks in three steps.

01

Collect

Give someone a simple form to enter the customer information you need.

02

Complete

Keep customer information structured and make it easier to avoid missing data.

03

Download

Download the completed CSV and import it into QuickBooks.

Why use a form?

Getting customer data is often harder than importing it.

Sending someone a spreadsheet template sounds simple until names are inconsistent, contact details are missing, or everyone formats their information differently.

A structured form gives people a clearer way to provide the customer information you need before you import it into QuickBooks.

Missing customer information

Required fields are easier to communicate before the data reaches QuickBooks.

Inconsistent customer data

Give people structured fields instead of asking them to work inside a spreadsheet.

Spreadsheet back-and-forth

Collect customer information directly through a simple form.

QuickBooks CSV template

A simple way to collect QuickBooks customer information

Use this QuickBooks customer CSV template to collect customer information such as names, company details, email addresses, phone numbers, websites and addresses.

Instead of sending someone a spreadsheet and asking them to fill it in, give them a simple form and download the resulting CSV when they're finished.

QuickBooks Online supports importing customers from CSV and Excel files. During the import process, QuickBooks lets you match the spreadsheet fields to the corresponding customer fields. Learn more about importing customers into QuickBooks.

The standard QuickBooks contact import supports up to 1,000 rows or 2 MB per import, so larger lists may need to be split into multiple files. See QuickBooks' import requirements.

If you need different fields or more than three rows, you can create your own Import Builder form and configure it for your customer collection workflow.

Need a customer CSV form of your own?
