Create your own formProcore's column order
Cost code to budget amount, in the order of the Budget Line Items sheet, so the rows paste straight in.
Checked as they type
Missing cost codes and types, amounts with commas or $ and a missing Manual Calculation are flagged.
Your cost codes as dropdowns
In your own form, turn Cost Code, Cost Type and UOM into lists of your company's values.
Up to 1,000 rows

How it works
From estimate to Procore budget in three steps.
01
Collect
Import an estimate, or send the form to whoever is building the budget.
02
Complete
Each line gets a row. Missing cost codes, wrong Manual Calculation values and formatted amounts are highlighted.
03
Paste and import
Download the CSV, copy the rows into the Budget Line Items sheet of the template you downloaded from Procore, save it as .xlsx and import it.
Why use a form?
Procore's template is strict about every column.
The budget import only reads Procore's own template, with its columns unchanged. Cost codes must match your work breakdown structure exactly, and amounts can't contain commas or currency symbols. A budget passed around as a spreadsheet rarely survives that.
A form collects the lines in the template's order and checks them first, so pasting them in is the last step, not the start of a clean-up.
Cost codes that don't match
Kept as text, so 02-300 stays 02-300. In your own form, a dropdown of your cost codes means they always match.
Amounts Procore can't read
Budget amounts and unit costs must be plain numbers: $30,000 is written as 30000.
Missing required columns
Every line needs a cost code, a cost type and Manual Calculation set to True or False.
Procore budget template
How Procore imports a budget
Procore imports a project budget from its own Excel template. In the project's Budget tool, unlock the budget, then under Import Budget click Download Excel Template. Fill in the Budget Line Items sheet, save it as .xlsx and import it from the same place. Procore's CSV and PDF exports have different columns and can't be imported back.
Each line needs a cost code, a cost type and Manual Calculation. Cost codes must match your work breakdown structure exactly, and each cost code and cost type pair can appear only once, so one cost code can have several lines with different cost types. Procore creates the budget codes from them. An import takes up to 500 lines.
With Manual Calculation set to True you enter the budget amount; with False, Procore calculates it from the unit quantity, unit of measure and unit cost. Amounts must be plain numbers without commas or currency symbols. Importing again adds new lines but overwrites the budget amounts of existing ones, so Procore recommends importing a budget once.
This template checks each column as it's filled in. It can't check that a cost code pair is used only once, or that a budget amount is filled in only when Manual Calculation is True, so those are in the column help. If your template starts with a Sub Job column, paste the rows starting at the Cost Code column.
